We have discussed this situation in our system. Given that the symptoms overlap and we would not be able to clearly distinguish side effects of vaccine from symptoms of COVID, especially given significant community
transmission in our area, we would ask anyone with symptoms to be tested for COVID at this point.

Subject: [MCOH-EH] Planning for COVID vaccine side effects?
Good afternoon everyone,
I am wondering if anyone has been planning on managing side effects after COVID vaccine, including low grade fever, etc.?
Specifically, given that side effects are similar to symptoms of COVID infection, might post vaccine COVID testing be indicated?
Thank you,
Craig Thorne
