That is my read of the ACIP slides, Wendy. The “grace period” allows early vaccination as soon as day 17. They are not giving an upper limit of time interval,
nor are they recommending you “start over” after any particular lag in getting dose 2.
In the phase 3 trial, the predefined window for an acceptable dose 2 was 19 – 42 days after dose 1, per the VRBPAC briefing document. (Table 2, page 18)
