Cross posting in OEM list and MCOH:
Colleagues:
I’ve heard from our operations people that our immunization administration through-put has been throttled by the 15 minute observation time.
Specifically, the rate limiting step is clearing space for those who are being observed post-administration for that 15 minute period.
Please respond to the following, and I will report back aggregate results:
- We follow the 15 minute wait time for all who are vaccinated
- We stratify need to be observed by risk of having a reaction, or someone with underlying medical conditions that might result in a more serious acute reaction
- We have eliminated the waiting period.
- Other solutions or comments:
Thanks for taking the time.
