Our "High Risk " clinics have paid off. The employee must wait 30 minutes and we have an additional level of medical professional support available.
To date we have given approximately 9000 shots and we have had 4 anaphylacic reations including one employee who was hospitalized in the MICU for a short duration.
Thanks

We mandate the 15 minute wait time in a small auditorium setting with observers/RNs monitoring for any reactions.

Cross posting in OEM list and MCOH:

Colleagues:

I’ve heard from our operations people that our immunization administration through-put  has been throttled by the 15 minute observation time.

Specifically,  the rate limiting step is clearing space for those who are being observed post-administration for that 15 minute period.

Please respond to the following,  and I will report back aggregate results:

  1. We follow the 15 minute wait time for all who are vaccinated
  2. We stratify need to be observed by risk of having a reaction, or someone with underlying medical conditions that might result in a more serious acute reaction
  3. We have eliminated the waiting period.
  4. Other solutions or comments:

Thanks for taking the time.
