We do a rapid 5 panel ( THC, Cocaine, Opiates, meth, Amph) and if + do a send out to our contracted lab/MRO.     TMH (aka EHS) does the rapid test during onboarding preplacement assessment.     + UDS is not hired and cannot reapply for one year.

We also draw a cotinine level for insurance /benefits OR a nicotine metabolite urine test if person is on NRT.  Persons using nicotine pay $22 more per  biweekly pay period for health insurance.  Cotinine is done in our lab but we are looking for a rapid test if anyone has input.   JoAnn

Subject: [MCOH-EH] Drug Testing

WARNING: This email came from an external source outside of Tampa General Hospital.

Our health system is evaluating our drug testing program and was interested in what other health care systems were doing.

Do you do drug testing?

Is it part of your preplacement process and is it a rate limiting step?

Do you outsource to a Labcore or a Qwest type vendor?

Do you test for nicotine and if you do what do you do with the results?

Thank you very much for your input.
