worked on it within our medical system. 😊

Hi Darryl – EVS put signs on all the linen hampers that the bags are to be pulled when they are ¾ full. The EVS staff has been trained to either, split a heavy bag into two or if it is
happening repeatedly in an area, the EVS staff has been told to make the Charge on the floor aware and refuse to pull that bag until the floor staff has split it into two.
I think EVS manager has done an excellent job of empowering her staff to speak up if the bags are over-filled and to take personal responsibility of their
own back safety.

We have had a few back sprain/strains due to nursing departments over filling our linen bags. When housekeeping goes to pull the dirty linen, they are over filled and some of the
linen is wet from the patient showering and staff using blankets to soak up the water in the bathrooms. Can you tell me how your facilities handle linen? I am looking into getting rid of the hampers and large bags and only offering smaller bags so that they
can not be filled as full. Does anyone else have any suggestions or tips for what you see at your facility?
