We do perform audiometric testing for workers who have noise exposure as assessed by noise readings in the work areas. We have hearing booths in our external occupational health clinics and do the testing there for our own employees.
CAOHC is a great testing program, and we send everyone who does testing to a training session.
With regard to audio booths, they are expensive and require regular calibration and maintenance. There are some less expensive alternatives, including
SHOEBOX: Leading Digital Audiometers & Hearing Screening and options at
Tele-Audiology | Tele-Audiology Equipment| e3 Diagnostics.

Hello, we are wanting to set up a hearing conservation program at our university per OSHA requirements. This would provide for annual audiometric testing of workers who have regular loud noise exposure on the job, for workers who operate
leaf blowers, transport patients on helicopter, participate in firearms training for Public Safety, etc. I have 3 questions that I would love to hear responses to from other Employee Health departments that run similar programs. If others have more general
responses or guidance, please let me know.
Thanks so much for any input or advice! Best, Tim
