I know I have seen this question in the past; however, I wanted to revisit for follow up to see what others are doing in their practices.
When handling a discrepancy situation, do you only screen for medication in the discrepancy or do you use your normal panel UDS if the medication is covered under
panel?
Example: Hydrocodone: Test only for that medication or use 10 panel
ext opiates which covers medication,
Gabapentin: Test only for that medication or medication plus 10 panel since it is not part of the
10 panel routine UDS.
Any feedback and supporting information is greatly appreciated.
