[MCOH-EH] MCOH-EH Employee Health Organizational Structure

My situation is similar to Warner. I report to VP of HR and Benefits, but clinically I am under Emergency Medicine (they never know where to put Occ Med). On the HR side, I think the most important thing is who the VP is and the type of relationship, not necessarily which department. On the ED side, this is a good situation as it gives me a better working relationship with the ED for our employees seen in the ED for injuries and needlesticks on off hours.

I should have added that while I and thus the department report to Chief HR Officer; my medical staff appointment is through UCLA Reagan Hospital and under Dept. of Family and Community Medicine for privileges and credentialing.

You are correct; not here through clinical or nursing; rather through HR as all the other employers I've worked with for 30 + years. Do have close working relationship with Risk Management and clinical areas.

Dear List Serv Members:
It is not unusual in industrial settings for occupational health to report up through Risk or Human Resources. I have the idea occupational health (Employee Health) in healthcare frequently reports to Human Resources. Does anyone report through a clinical or nursing department?
Thanks in advance.
