edWeb member Brad Henry is presenting on Tuesday, Feb 14th at 10:45am ET at
eTech Ohio. We're going to broadcast this event live for edWeb members. Brad
will be talking about:

Gaming and Higher Order Thinking Skills
Cognitive strategies that promote higher order thinking skills when using gaming
as a form of instruction.

Tuesday, February 14th - 10:45 - 11:30 AM EST

Integrating games into a classroom curriculum can be an effective tool for
instruction and learning. What is not always clear is how students learn from
games. As an instructor teachers need to be equipped with strategies for
identifying opportunities for learning. This session will explore techniques to
assist instructors in how to develop and identify opportunities that engage
students in higher-order thinking skills.

The presenter, Brad Henry, is a 16 year professional of the IT industry. Brad's
work experience extends from the development of global systems architecture
infrastructures for a Fortune 500 company, educational researcher in
technological integration, linguistics, cognition, artificial intelligence, and
student learning outcomes. In addition his work extends into the development of
curriculum and instructional design methodologies. He also works with several
national distance educational programs and is the President of Edutechnologic,
llc.

eTech Ohio hosts the third largest state educational technology conference in
the country where more than 6,500 educational innovators gather once a year and
share their successes and challenges with one another. The conference is an
opportunity for educators to honestly share their experiences-what works, and
what doesn't-for the benefit of their peers.
