LEGISLATIVE UPDATES

We're in the home stretch. Session ends on May 8th. The House and Senate are both scheduled to convene several times this week.

eBooks:

  * The Planning and Development Committee bill is Senate Bill 148<https://www.cga.ct.gov/asp/cgabillstatus/cgabillstatus.asp?selBillType=Bill&which_year=2024&bill_num=148>. There was no action on this bill last week.
  * The Government Administration and Elections Committee bill is House Bill 5312<https://www.cga.ct.gov/asp/cgabillstatus/cgabillstatus.asp?InMyBill=True&selBillType=Bill&bill_num=HB05312&which_year=2024&UID=epaul@ctlibrarians.org>. On Monday the Judiciary voted to send the bill back to the floor of the House without debate. The bill is calendared for consideration on the floor of the house. The question is: will it be called?

School Librarians:

The substitute language is now available. The bill has been reported out of committee and calendared for consideration on the floor of the house. The question is: will it be called?
