About the Trauma-Informed Services Webinar Series:
In the library setting, trauma-informed services play a crucial role, by fostering a safe and supportive environment for patrons who may have experienced trauma. Recognizing and addressing the impact of trauma ensures that libraries become inclusive spaces, where individuals feel understood and respected, promoting healing and access to resources for all members of the community. This webinar series will dive into the neuroscience of trauma, exploring how trauma shapes the brain and influences cognitive functions and emotional regulation. Through interactive scenarios, hands-on activities, and engaging discussions, participants will gain practical tools for implementing the key principles of trauma-informed services and obtain tangible steps for transforming library spaces and services. Join us on a comprehensive journey toward becoming an organization that prioritizes the well-being and healing of its community.
