Excel 2010: Getting Started - July 6th (Bristol PL)
Are you thinking about upgrading to Excel 2010 but are anxious? Have you upgraded and are confused? This half-day workshop will clear up all the anxiety and confusion. You'll learn to love the ribbon menu, groups and options and find out where your favorite dialog boxes are. We'll also talk about file formats and setting format preferences so others can read your documents. You'll learn a tip or trick about Excel 2010 along the way.

Anatomy of a WebPage: HTML Decoded - July 13th (MLSC)
Hypertext Markup Language is one of the programming languages used to create web pages. If you use Frontpage or Dreamweaver, knowing HTML will allow you to tweek or troubleshoot your page quickly. In this class, we will translate HTML coding into simple English and create a web site from scratch. You will learn how web sites work, basic tags, and "Meta" elements. No HTML or Web experience necessary!

Facebook for Libraries: Creating Pages & Groups - July 13th  (MLSC)
Facebook has grown to become the most popular Social Network on the planet with over 175 million active users. You may be using it in your personal life, but Facebook can also be used for your library as well. In this workshop, we will explore Facebook's Business & Organization pages and groups. We will learn the subtle differences between the different accounts, as well as investigate the different features and applications Facebook has to offer and how you can use them for your library's page. Prerequisite: You must already have a Facebook personal account and be familiar with basic status updates.

Creating Effective Newsletters with Publisher 2007 - July 21st (WLSC)
Newsletters are a popular method to inform your community of the happenings in your library. In this half-day workshop, we will discuss best design practices for printed newsletters, distribution options, and work with Publisher 2007 to create a sample newsletter.

Prerequisite: Familiarity with basic tools in MS Word or other processing software (such as WordPad, Word Perfect or Apple Works) 

Intro. to Adobe Photoshop Elements - July 21st (WLSC) 
Have you downloaded images from your digital camera, but don't know the next step? In this half-day workshop you'll learn how to create your own custom images, shrink, crop, and/or edit your camera downloads using Photoshop Elements.
