Hi Everyone,
I need some ideas/advice in the area of collaboration. I'm trying really hard to
work on fostering collabrative relationship with teachers and also making
connections between library lessons and classroom learning. My principal wants
me out in the classrooms more and sooner rather than later. My school is
Prek-Grade 2 and i am on a fixed schedule. I have more questions than answers
at the moment so I'm coming to my colleagues with a plea for help.
1. How do you approach teachers to work with you?
2. What methods do you use toget information from your teachers about what
they're working on?
3. Do you go into classrooms to visit? Are those visits announced or
unannounced?
4. Do you go into classrooms to work with teachers or do teachers bring classes
to you?
5. At the K-2 level, do you have students come to use the library indepenently
beyond book exchange?
6. Are you albe to get into classrooms to work with teachers within the limits
of a fixed schedule?
Thanks for any advice/ideas you can offer! I'm happy to shsare responses.
