[CASL-L] Student ceiling due date

I go with the 2 weeks before the end of school. I ask teachers not to make
any reports due after those dates for obvious reasons. They still ask to
make the date later every year and every year I hold the line. We are
closing and opening a small business every year.

We put up a 'list' in the teachers lounge of all the students by grade with
books still out. It's been that way since before I got there. There are
ethical concerns regarding student confidentiality with this practice.
But when push comes to shove, the teachers are an immense help in getting
the books back to me. They take an interest and sympathize because they are
soon suffering trying to track down textbooks.

I also issue library detentions. If the kids get the books to me, they
don't serve them. Those are for those kids who are over a month over due
near the end of the year.

Finally, I deliver overdue slips to students directly in thier homerooms
and make them get me thier books right then and there if they are in the
school and it's past the cieling date. I am ruthless and unbending and make
children cry when needed! : )
