The Balanced Scorecard(tm) approach offers a strategic planning and management tool that integrates all aspects of your library's functions-staffing, financial matters, community involvement, programming, and project management-into one comprehensive tool. By using The Balanced Scorecard(tm) approach your library can harness the enthusiasm and expertise of stakeholders from the community, the Board, library leadership, and the entire staff to create plans that people really believe in. Reality check: e-books are now an indispensable part of library collections. Not only do patrons expect e-books in the library, they also expect librarians to be able to assist them with e-books. Are you afraid a patron will stump you with an e-book question? Do you feel like you're struggling to keep your knowledge of your library's e-resources up to date? Take heart, for in this workshop's two 90-minute sessions, Phil Spirito will give you the confidence and knowledge you need to assist your patrons, regardless of your level of technical expertise.

(Please note: This is a group viewing of a webinar. Registration is required.)
People who visit the library infrequently-or those who don't visit at all-present a special challenge to public library staff. It's hard to identify why they don't use the library, because they typically ignore surveys or focus groups. And without knowing what their needs are, it's difficult to know what services and programs will attract them. Don't give up! This on-demand webinar offers some basic techniques that can be used to gain insights about non-users and help you draw them into the library
