>From the beginning of iCONN's eAudio and eBook service it has been necessary for K-12 students to use a valid CT library card number, with a valid e-mail address and a unique username and password of their choosing, to create an account in OneClickdigital in order to download their selections. Once created, the student could then login to that account from anywhere with just their username and password. Despite the requirement of having a public library card in order to download this content, many students still do not have public library cards and therefore lack ready access to this content.

This issue was discussed at the Connecticut Digital Library Board and, pursuant to that discussion, we have succeeded in removing the public library card number requirement for the CT K-12 community. iCONN furnished IP addresses for all K-12 institutions we have on file to OneClickdigital, who in turn has added them to the iCONN account. Now students, faculty and staff within CT K-12 buildings can create OneClickdigital accounts without having to input a public library card number. We hope this will encourage more students to create accounts to download and place holds on our eAudio and eBook titles. To browse or search those titles, see: http://iconnct.oneclickdigital.com.

Questions are welcomed and can be sent to me at Eric.A.Hansen at ct.gov or 860-704-2224.
