Hi Traci (and larger listserv),
My school has been a CLC member for several years. The main reason I joined was to take advantage of all the great vendor discounts that are available as a member. I order a lot of my books through Baker and Taylor-the discount for most books average 45% off the list price. Last year I saved my district $856 by using these discounts. Because our district is so small (a total of two schools with less than 800 students) we were able to split the cost of the membership.
At the end of the school year the consortium will provide each participant with a total of dollars saved via vendor discounts-a nice way to support the following year's budget request.

My administrator asked me to look into the benefits of a school membership in CLC. I read the info on CLC site, but any individual experiences you'd like to share would be helpful. Thank you very much.
