[CASL-L] Possible Author Visit for Elem, Middle, or High

Happy November to all!

I'm having author C. Alexander London (aka Alex London for his 2 YA novels)
come to visit my school on April 27th & 28th. He is temporarily keeping the
rest of that week open for anyone who would like to piggyback on his visit.
His normal daily fee is $1,000/for a full day plus expenses, but he is
willing to negotiate since he will already be in the area. He is also
willing to do a half-day visit. He will be coming from NYC by train so no
plane ticket expense necessary. Just wanted to see if anyone was interested
in having him visit that week as well.

I first saw him speak at Book Expo America in NYC last May and he is great!
He is funny and engaging and has lots of great things to talk about.
Definitely not a bore! He is a former librarian and journalist who covered
war zones and refugee camps all around the world. I recently saw him speak
again where school students were present and asking questions. My friend
who was with me who is not an educator (just a book lover) leaned over and
said "Wow, he is answering really bad questions really well. He's good with
the kids. He will be great when he comes to your school."

He has middle grade books as well as two YA novels perfect for middle and
high so he could do a visit for grades 4 and up. I'm having him visit
grades 4 and 5 at my school.

*FYI, even if you aren't interested in an author visit, I recommend buying
his books for your library* if you don't have them. Many of my reluctant
and avid readers alike enjoy his books. He is the author of the Dog Tags
series as well as my favorite of his series Accidental Adventures. The
first in the series is called We Are Not Eaten by Yaks. I've had almost
100% positive feedback about this series. His YA books are Proxy and
Guardian.
