Good morning,

An English teacher at our school is looking for some good books to do in literature circles with a class of students from China. However, the students are all at different levels with English reading/comprehension. So, she is looking for books with similar levels/topics for different reading levels:

Grades 2-3

Grades 4-5

Grades 6-8

Also, because they are from China, they also struggle with some cultural issues. We discussed doing historical fiction (Attack of the Turtle, My Brother Sam is Dead, etc.) but the kids have no exposure to American history.

Perhaps adventure/survival books (i.e. Gary Paulsen)

If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them!

Thanks so much!
