[CASL-L] Where do weeded books go?

Thanks, Julie. I used Bridgeport Bindery, too, last year. Didn't know about the VHS tapes. They are located in Massachusetts, but I have always found their service very prompt.

I use Bridgeport Bindery for weeding purposes. Here's what I like about them. They will send boxes if you need them. They come to your school at no cost to pick up the materials after you pack and label the boxes. They go through what you send them and determine how to process the items....sell, donate, recycle. If any books sell the district gets a check either every six months or once a year. They accept VHS tapes too. I love that this company represents a responsible why to weed a collection. I really didn't want to add to the local land fill.
http://bnbindery.com - BTW they are not located in Bridgeport, CT.

Recently at the Ed camp at Region 6, someone mentioned a place that welcomed weeded books. Foolishly I did not write it down. We have a ton of fiction hardcovers and will start weeding a really overgrown reference section soon(Dictionaries anyone?).
Thanks for any help!
