I host Lunchtime Book Clubs every Tuesday in the library.  Yes, they are messy, but no messier than the faculty at our monthly meeting.  The custodian gave me non-toxic cleaner and a broom/dustpan.  We are sparkling again by 1:20PM.

There are exceptions because events are held in here and the hosts of those events provide food for the participants. For the most part, kids are respectful of the policy. We ask that kids keep water bottles under their chairs when using the computers. They are pretty good about that as well. I have an all-purpose office which the kids will occasionally use when they need to work and eat.     Maralee Parker Library Media Specialist Griswold High School 267 Slater Avenue Griswold, CT 06351 860.376.7640. Subject: [CASL-L] food in school libraries    Good afternoon.     I'm wondering how many high school libraries allow students to eat while working.  Do you have specific policies about that?  Do you allow them to bring food from the cafeteria or just snacks?  Are beverages near computers a problem?     Thanks for your time.    TG    ---------------------------------
