Hello all,

One more pitch for Marc Nobleman
thanks to your many great reviews of him on
the listserv, we have booked him in Coventry on 12/1. If anyone else would
like him that week while he’s in CT, he may offer a nice discount! He’s
doing four K-5 talks here in the day and an evening piece for families, but
will do any age. So far, GREAT to work with
easy and responds to emails
within minutes. Here’s a blurb from him:

I'm the Maryland author of 70+ books; I've been invited to speak at schools
in more than half the 50 states, Tanzania, India, United Arab Emirates,
Chile, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Guam. I would love to
show your students (and staff) what the buzz is about...especially now that
one of my books changed pop culture history
<http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/dc-entertainment-give-classic-
batman-824572> .

Among my work:

*	Boys of Steel: The Creators of Superman: multiple starred reviews;
ALA Notable; made front page of USA Today
*	Bill the Boy Wonder: The Secret Co-Creator of Batman: covered by
NPR's All Things Considered; led to an invitation to give a TED talk
*	Thirty Minutes Over Oregon (2016): the true story of the Japanese
WWII pilot whose unprecedented act is a famous first that is not yet famous
*	Brave Like My Brother (2016): the inspirational story of an American
soldier in WWII England who shares his war experiences (including a
historic, dangerous secret mission) with his 10-year-old brother via letters
(novel)
*	The Chupacabra Ate the Candelabra (2017): funny fiction
*	Fairy Spell (2018): the true story of the two girls whose WWI-era
photographs of alleged fairies mystified the world for decades

My talks are real-life detective stories with a strong social justice
component: part motivational, part educational, and all entertaining for any
age...even to those who couldn't care less about superheroes. Five
reactions:

“You were AWESOME. I was near tears hearing the impression that you made on
my son, who is in 3rd grade. For weeks after your presentation, I continued
to hear how your message had resonated with many others.”
—Karin R. DeWispelaere, reading resource teacher, Laurel Ridge Elementary,
Fairfax, VA

“To say that [your] presentation was outstanding is almost an
understatement. I’ve been the Head of Lower School for 30 years. All of the
adults agreed that [you are] the best presenter we have ever had.”
—Dana Hahn, Head of Lower School, Wheeler School, Providence, RI

“You inspired them. In fact, one of my students who has been very difficult
to reach came into the library for the FIRST time this school year—asking
for one of your books. Thank you, Marc.”
—Susan Grigsby, Georgia Library Media Specialist of the Year, Elkins Pointe
Middle School, Roswell, GA

“I’ve seen a lot of school presentations over my 6½ years arranging kids'
book events. Marc’s ranks among the very top of the heap. His message...is
delivered uniquely, with enthusiasm, humility, and rare perfect rapport with
his listeners. During his talk, I witnessed my favorite thing: kids' hairs
being blown back by the audacity of possibility.”
—Suzanne Perry, Events/Public Relations, Secret Garden Bookshop, Seattle, WA

“That was one of the best presentations we’ve had EVER! Not only did you
inspire kids to love writing, which is great, but you promoted their
development as human beings.”
—Laura McKone, 5th grade teacher, Mark Twain Elementary, Centennial, CO

Thank you,
Marc Tyler Nobleman
