[CASL-L] Question for Destiny Users

Our procedures pretty much mirror that of Southington, though our records may be a bit more current as a circulation para checks them from time-to-time.  Graduated seniors are purged unless they owe $ (theoretically, they should not be able to receive cap and gown until they pay obligations); incoming freshman are uploaded and fines are carried up from middle to high school; retiring/resigning faculty also purged unless they owe materials--they are identified as inactive as well.

Our records are not up to date. The database admin creates and deletes. As a result, it takes years for the names of graduates to be removed. New teacher accounts are created when we send a request. 

We can change status to inactive. 

Also wondering if any schools are using textbook manager? One department does here.

We remove students only if we are sure they are out of our grades and won't move back.  Otherwise, we keep them as Inactive but making sure we have in their year of graduation because many do move in and out many times.

Once graduated, we remove them if they do not owe any Library Materials or Fines over $ 2.00.  Once graduated, if they have any fines for less than $ 2.00, we waive the fine and remove them from Destiny.

Staff, we keep for two years.  We have had a few leave the district, go elsewhere to teach and come back.

I do not remove our elementary students when they move because often they move back!

We use Destiny and yes, we remove them.

Should we remove inactive students and staff from Destiny?  I am not sure iif you need to keep history of library checkouts, etc and if those will also be deleted if the staff and students are as well.Do you know any other district that uses Destiny and what they do?
