Todd-
We are completely 1:1 (grades 7-12) with approximately 700 students at the high school. We do NOT loan out Chromebooks and have stopped loaning out chargers as well. We realized that no one would carry their device back and forth to school if they could check one out here. And the chargers were disappearing, so students are forced to borrow one from a teacher or friend at this point. It is part of their expectations for being prepared for class that they charge their Chromebook and have it with them every day. If they don't, occasionally a teacher will loan them theirs, or they will send them to the MC to use one of the few desktops that we have available. It's also a matter of insurance for us-we have insured each device for the students, but not so that they may have possession of more than one device. If their chromebook is damaged or not working properly, we have spares to SWAP out while theirs is being repaired, but no student ever has possession of two Chromebooks at once.
Hope this helps!

Good morning. This question is for other 1:1 high schools. What are your policies for students forgetting their devices/not charging devices, etc.? Do you have a set consequence for a student who shows up unprepared more than once? How often do you lend devices? Do your departments keep spare devices to lend? We're discussing drafting a policy regarding preparedness and wanted to gather feedback from other schools before doing so.
Thanks for your time!
