[CASL-L] Library Tech Question

Another point to consider, do students come to the Library to do class work outside of class? If so, do regular PCs or MACs have ADOBE SUITE or PHOTOSHOP? Right now I don't think these are available on Chromebooks.

We are doing half the school this semester with 1 to 1 chromebooks, but our Tech Staff still understand that the Library should be a place where there are good quality PCs and Macs with the Software and ability to edit photos, videos, etc. with the same software their Art or Tech Ed or Business teachers have them use in class.

There should be a good balance of technology in the Library to support all the needs of all the staff and students.

And our Teachers are all on Laptops or PCs. Most of our classrooms now have Interactive Whiteboards and they currently need a Windows or OS machine that has space for the software to run it interactively. Explain it is a waste to have an expensive interactive board and then to use it like a cheap whiteboard to just project on.

Good luck!

Subject: [CASL-L] Library Tech Question

Hi Everyone,

My tech director is contemplating solely using Chromebooks in the library next year.

Thoughts on eliminating hard wired computers entirely? Pros/cons? (We are going full tilt Google next year - this year is the transition year.)
