I'll chime in to agree with Joan.  We've had Leslie here several times.  She has been an excellent presenter, doing thoughtful workshops and presentations with various grade levels.  The kids took to her immediately as she's very warm and empathetic.  ?

I have not seen her in front of a large assembly but did see her with a group of about 20 students at our school for a writing workshop. She was engaging and very effective. Each student got a small box with an object inside (each box was different). From what I recall, they to write a creative piece about the box before they opened it and then again after they opened it (each box held an old key in a different shape). She was very effective, managed the students well, and was also nice to work with. This was a few years ago, around the time of All Rise for the Honorable Perry T. Cook.
