[CASL-L] Please share with your students - Female Mentors needed for Kids Coding for A Cause in Torrington, CT

I am with the nonprofit organization, Random Hacks of Kindness Junior. (
www.rhokjr.org) Our mission is to empower students to use technology for
social good.  During a one-day “hackathon”, students in grades 4 - 8 will
be paired with high school mentors to help develop and code prototype
smartphone apps for local nonprofit organizations.

All female students are welcome. This event is open to the public and
requires no prior coding knowledge. Using MIT App Inventor, students will
learn the basics of app design, as well as the ideation and brainstorming
process required to build a successful prototype mobile application.

The one-day event is scheduled for Saturday, April 14 at Charlotte
Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, CT.  The hackathon is sponsored by the
Women & Girls Fund of the Northwest CT Community Foundation.  The goal of
the day is to introduce girls to technology and show them how it can be
used to create solutions that benefit non-profit organizations.
