Hi Sarah -

I also work in the Children's department of a public library and they
changed the call numbers:

examples:

Tales Red Riding Hood (so all of the cultural variations on the Little Red
Riding Hood tale are grouped together)
Tales Cinderella
Tales Aesop's
Tales Gingerbread Man

Tales Creatures Mermaids
Tales Creatures Unicorns
Tales Creatures Dragons

They also grouped geographic folktales together by region:

Tales England
Tales Kenya
Tales Puerto Rico
etc.

Additionally, they moved the fables/fairytales/folktales out of the regular
non-fiction shelving units and placed them in their own bookcase in a much
more visible location in the library.
