Good morning,

Since 2001, the Connecticut State Library has had a Connecticut group subscription to OCLC's CatExpress service. CatExpress is an easy-to-use copy cataloging service. You basically buy a pool of catalog records to use in your local catalog for the year. Since you have access to OCLC's WorldCat, this is especially good for finding records for those hard-to-find items.

The CT group price for July 1, 2018-June 30, 2019 is $1.27 per record and there is no minimum number to order. If you would like to use CatExpress for a higher volume of cataloging (250-7000 titles per year), you may be better off subscribing directly with OCLC and their tiered pricing levels.

Who is eligible to subscribe?

* Public libraries that serve populations of 20,000 or less

* Academic / Community College libraries with staff size of 2,500 or fewer full-time equivalent (FTE)

* K-12, Special and Federal libraries

For more information about CatExpress, go to: https://www.oclc.org/en/catexpress.html

If you are interested in trying CatExpress for the coming year, please let me know by May 31. Orders are placed in June and billing will occur in July.

Thank you,

Gail
