[CASL-L] Copyright/ Fair Use Question

Dear CASL community,

I am working on a project in which students make a short video using some
of the pages of a wordless book and write their own narration. Students
will take pictures of the illustrations for which they write the text. They
will use 6-8 pages of the book in total. Do we need to contact the
illustrator/ publisher to get permission to use the illustrations?
