Hi,

I have some questions for those of you with a community
mentor/service piece to your Capstone.

- What happens if a student is unable to get to their mentor/ community
service time due to parents being unavailable? We are anticipating that
due to work schedules or other issues there might be students who have
difficulty making it to their location after school hours.

- Have you ever had a mentor back out during the Capstone Experience or
just had one that was not helpful, didn't fill out the paperwork, etc...?

I know that there are going to be students that don't want to do the work
for whatever reason, and we can work the resources available at school to
help get them through that. We are trying to work on possible solutions
for the students that are willing to complete the project, but don't have
the needed support from the adults attached to it outside of school. Any
suggestions or ideas to work around this would be much appreciated.

If there are any other roadblocks that you've had that I haven't thought of
yet, I'd love to hear them, too!

Thanks for your help,
Tenley

number of laps you can now run around the track, or even your grade point
average-- though those things are important, to be sure. It's what you've
done with your time, how you've chosen to spend your days, and whom you've
touched this year. That, to me, is the greatest measure of success.” - R.J.
