Live Webcast: July 28 | 4pm EDT / 2pm MDT
Summer is the finest part of the year for stargazing because it offers warm nights and the beauty of the Milky Way running straight overhead. The constellations we see have been passed down to us across generations with patterns that reflect different stories from around the world.

As part of STAR Net's Sky Stories<https://t.e2ma.net/click/qopwzd/6094u8/yu7s8t> campaign, the American Museum of Natural History's<https://t.e2ma.net/click/qopwzd/6094u8/en8s8t> own Carter Emmart will show you how to identify the constellations and introduce you to a few of these stories while exploring some of the science behind the familiar patterns in the sky.
During the live webcast, library patrons will be able to interact with American Museum of Natural History scientist, Dr. Jackie Fahrety, by asking questions (using the chat feature) that relate to constellations.
This live OpenSpace<https://t.e2ma.net/click/qopwzd/6094u8/uf9s8t> webcast is brought to you by the STAR Library Network's NASA@ My Library program in partnership with the Lunar and Planetary Institute<https://t.e2ma.net/click/qopwzd/6094u8/a89s8t> , the American Library Association<https://t.e2ma.net/click/qopwzd/6094u8/q0at8t>, and the American Museum of Natural History.

The STAR Library Network (STAR Net) is a hands-on learning network for libraries and their communities across the country. STAR Net focuses on helping library professionals build their STEM skills by providing "science-technology activities and resources" (STAR) and training to use those resources. Plus, engage public audiences nationwide in informal and lifelong learning with the excitement of exploration and discovery through new NASA@ My Library resources!
STAR Net is built upon a strong network of collaborators and partners, led by the Space Science Institute's (SSI) National Center for Interactive Learning (NCIL). Partners include the American Library Association's Public Programs Office, Lunar and Planetary Institute, Afterschool Alliance, Education Development Center, Datum Advisors, Cornerstones of Science, and the Pacific Science Center. Major funding is provided by the National Science Foundation, NASA Science Mission Directorate, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
