Live Webcast: June 30 | 4pm EDT/2pm MDT
The Perseverance Rover<https://t.e2ma.net/click/29l9vd/6094u8/aou32t> will launch this summer (July 17 - Aug. 5, 2020) and head to Jezero Crater<https://t.e2ma.net/click/29l9vd/6094u8/qgv32t>, where it will land at the foot of a river delta which was clearly a lake at the time microbial life was flourishing on Earth.

The American Museum of Natural History's<https://t.e2ma.net/click/29l9vd/6094u8/68v32t> Director of Astrovisualization, Carter Emmart, will lead us on an exploration of this exciting landing site as we fly over it together using OpenSpace<https://t.e2ma.net/click/29l9vd/6094u8/m1w32t>, NASA-supported software. We will see why Jezero Crater was chosen and the features it has to offer for this latest in NASA's series of Mars rovers to investigate past conditions which could have supported life.
During the live webcast, library patrons will be able to interact with NASA Scientists by asking questions (using the chat feature) that relate to NASA's 2020 Mars Mission.
This live OpenSpace webcast is brought to you by the STAR Library Network's NASA@ My Library program in partnership with the Lunar and Planetary Institute<https://t.e2ma.net/click/29l9vd/6094u8/2tx32t> , the American Library Association<https://t.e2ma.net/click/29l9vd/6094u8/imy32t>, and the American Museum of Natural History.

The STAR Library Network (STAR Net) is a hands-on learning network for libraries and their communities across the country. STAR Net focuses on helping library professionals build their STEM skills by providing "science-technology activities and resources" (STAR) and training to use those resources. Plus, engage public audiences nationwide in informal and lifelong learning with the excitement of exploration and discovery through new NASA@ My Library resources!
STAR Net is built upon a strong network of collaborators and partners, led by the Space Science Institute's (SSI) National Center for Interactive Learning (NCIL). Partners include the American Library Association's Public Programs Office, Lunar and Planetary Institute, Afterschool Alliance, Education Development Center, Datum Advisors, Cornerstones of Science, and the Pacific Science Center. Major funding is provided by the National Science Foundation, NASA Science Mission Directorate, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
