FactCite Lincoln Library Online always offers free previews for its award-winning databases, appropriate for researchers in grades 1-12. This spring, to help schools cope with students learning at home due to school closures, FactCite is extending the length of the trials.

Email owls at factcite.com<mailto:owls at factcite.com> for more information and to request a trial. (And FactCite does not collect information on any individual student users.)

Parents can make the choice to have their children signin, create accounts, or use websites and apps that are NOT on your District's signed policy list.
WE can't ask students to do this without a signed agreement.
IF you are distributing this list as a SUGGESTED activity list for prolonged closures, parents can make their own informed decisions about usage.
You MAY want to point out to parents which ones have signed onto the CT Software Hub, to better guide their choices for home use.

Just a heads up- my district is running into student privacy issues with a lot of these tools. There are some great resources out there, but they aren't CT compliant (or they haven't signed off individually with my district yet.)

Has anyone started / seen a collective list of "free" resources that are available K-12 for distance learning? I have seen emails but I think a resource list might be helpful for everyone.

Just asking before starting one.

“The best way to measure how much you've grown isn't by inches or the number of laps you can now run around the track, or even your grade point average-- though those things are important, to be sure. It's what you've done with your time, how you've chosen to spend your days, and whom you've touched this year. That, to me, is the greatest measure of success.” - R.J. Palacio, Wonder
