[CASL-L] WiFi hotspots

Hi Amber,

I have been gathering a few resources on this topic.  Comcast and Charter are providing free internet, including the equipment, for up to 2 months for qualifying families.  Charter is also opening their Wifi hotspots up to qualifying families.  Information about both of these are at the bottom of my website (mswanderslibrary.weebly.com <http://mswanderslibrary.weebly.com/>).  Spectrum is providing free internet to qualifying families (https://www.kajeet.net/?fbclid=IwAR1HO7_antWC6wrAt8YKp6kd-SYYNhqG5u5GQUoOKUsIUc8LmySz1ZvfmO0 <https://www.kajeet.net/?fbclid=IwAR1HO7_antWC6wrAt8YKp6kd-SYYNhqG5u5GQUoOKUsIUc8LmySz1ZvfmO0>).  You should note that the qualifications vary from company to company.  

In addition, families can check with their phone companies to see if they are allowed to turn their phone into a hotspot.  Straight Talk does not allow this, but some other companies do.  I have seen AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon specifically mentioned as good options because they have changed data limits during this time.

Some public libraries in CT have their wifi turned on even if the library itself is closed.  There was just a big discussion on the goodnightmoon listserv.
