Join us today at *3:00 pm US-EDT* for a special webinar on "*Youth Learning
Through National Parks*" with: Dr. Jessica Thompson, Professor, Northern
Michigan University; Dr. Ana Houseal, Associate Professor and Science
Outreach Educator, University of Wyoming; Milton Chen, Senior Fellow,
Edutopia.org (moderator); Tom Medema, Acting Associate Director,
Interpretation, Education, & Volunteers, National Park Service; and Jon
Jarvis, former Director, National Park Service.

This is the first in a series of webinars at LearningRevolution.com
<https://www.LearningRevolution.com> presenting case studies and research
findings from a new book, *America’s Largest Classroom: What We Learn from
Our National Parks
<https://www.amazon.com/Americas-Largest-Classroom-Learn-National/dp/0520340647/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=America%E2%80%99s+Largest+Classroom%3A+What+We+Learn+from+Our+National+Parks>*
(U. California Press, 2020).

“Educating the whole child” should include experiential learning in local
communities, states, and regions. National Park sites represent our
nation’s most significant landscapes, ecosystems, and historical/cultural
sites. From the Grand Tetons, the Great Smokies, and Cuyahoga Valley to
Monticello, Civil War battlefields, and Japanese internment camps, students
are learning first-hand, in motivating and authentic ways, about climate
change, U. S. history, biodiversity, and cultural diversity. National Parks
and their partners have published a wide variety of online resources to
inspire and support in-person visits. Virtual field trips to the Grand
Canyon, Alaska’s Katmai National Park, and more than 40 parks have become
even more popular during this Covid crisis. These immersive, place-based
experiences also lead students to reconsider their own goals and abilities,
“learning from the outside in.”

<https://learningrevolution.com/callforproposals>
PRESENT <https://learningrevolution.com/callforproposals>: Submit to
present a regular session on an education topic here
<https://learningrevolution.com/callforproposals>. See the long list of
potential strands here <https://learningrevolution.com/2020strands>. If you
present for a living and need to figure out an appropriate role in the
Learning Revolution Conference, email admin at learningrevolution.com.

<https://learningrevolution.com/hosting>
HOST <https://learningrevolution.com/hosting>: Host a conversation here
<https://learningrevolution.com/hosting>. Instead of giving a formal
presentation, would you like to guide a group discussion on a specific
topic? Hosted conversations are listed in the conference calendar and held
in a virtual Zoom room with up to 300 participants. Or start a regular
"show"--we're looking for individuals who might want to host a regular
topic-specific "show" or interview series during and after the
conference--email steve at learningrevolution.com if this is you!

<https://learningrevolution.com/organizing>
ORGANIZE <https://learningrevolution.com/organizing>: Organize your own
mini-conference inside of the Learning Revolution conference here
<https://learningrevolution.com/organizing>. You create a group for your
topic, come up with a strand tag for your topic/group, encourage your
audience (and/or others) to join learningrevolution.com and to submit
topic-specific presentation proposals.

<https://learningrevolution.com/sponsoring>
SPONSOR <https://learningrevolution.com/sponsoring>: Help by sponsoring or
supporting this event-- you can become a conference partner or sponsor, you
