Hello!!

Structured Discussion TONIGHT, Oct. 27th, 5:30-6:45:
 https://thinkalong-structured-discussion.eventbrite.com

About this Event

Thinkalong™ is an evidence-based, interactive, multimedia tool for guiding
learners through structured discussions around topics and current events
that directly affect their lives and communities. Thinkalong™ can be used
in libraries, summer camps, after school programs, and traditional or
blended classrooms. It supports individual, small group, and whole-group
learning.

In this training, the Thinkalong team will engage Participants in a live,
structured discussion about a pre-determined topic. There are limited
Participant spaces, and Participants will agree on the topic and consume
approximately 1 hour of public media content in preparation for the
discussion. Observers will have access to view the structured discussion as
well as brief overviews of thinkalong.org, other structured discussion
strategies and the 5 Key Questions of Media Literacy from the Center for
Media Literacy.

At the end of the training, educators will be able to:

   - Identify and describe several structured discussion formats compatible
   with Thinkalong, or other current event activities;
   - Implement Thinkalong with learners in any setting - home school,
   classrooms, libraries, summer camps, etc. - and in varied formats;
   - Better analyze media.

Connecticut-based educators also have access to a team of Outreach
Specialists and other perks. Reach out at thinkalong at ctpublic.org - someone
will get back to you quickly!

Thinkalong™ is a service of Connecticut Public, the parent company of
Connecticut Public Television and WNPR, and the state’s only locally-owned
media organization producing TV, radio, print, and web content for
Connecticut’s wide-ranging and diverse communities.
