[CASL-L] Heads up on budget freezes!

Our budget was cut substantially. I have had to cut a databases, and skip ordering books. The library is a supervised study hall, scheduled, and no books are circulating. All the bookcases are covered along the perimeter walls.

Challenging time, but we will make it through the year. I hope we can all be together in school next fall!

We started the school year with a frozen budget.  Still waiting to see if we ever get to order books, etc.

If yours hasn’t, I’d suggest renewing those expiring databases, encumbering some funds, and grabbing some ebooks in case your district goes in that direction. Vendors will probably be forgiving for payments of renewals;one told me she’s been seeing it around the state.

I wish I had the forethought or the heads up.  Oops.
