During this difficult year, many educators have had to find online
resources to provide lessons for their students.  Sponsored by Antioch
University Seattle, this fantastic lineup of award-winning authors and
illustrators is *free to anyone* seeking a multicultural literary
experiences for their students. Librarians and teachers are encouraged but
not required to support the artists and enrich students' experience by
first purchasing and reading the books. Feel free to share with your
educator colleagues.

Kao Kalia Yang
The Most Beautiful Thing
Drawn from author Kao Kalia Yang’s childhood experiences as a Hmong
refugee, this moving picture book portrays a family with a great deal of
love and little money. Weaving together Kalia’s story with that of her
beloved grandmother, the book moves from the jungles of Laos to the
family’s early years in the United States. Stunning illustrations from
Vietnamese illustrator Khoa Le bring this intergenerational tale to life.

Traci Sorrel
Classified: The Secret Career of Mary Golda Ross, Cherokee Aerospace
Engineer
Mary Golda Ross designed classified airplanes and spacecraft as Lockheed
Aircraft Corporation’s first female engineer. Cherokee author Traci Sorell
and Métis illustrator Natasha Donovan trace Ross’s journey from being the
only girl in a high school math class to becoming a teacher to pursuing an
engineering degree, joining the top-secret Skunk Works division of
Lockheed, and being a mentor for Native Americans and young women
interested in engineering.
