Teachers can show full-length movies as part of the curriculum only if the
school owns the movie. otherwise they are violating copyright law. So
teachers can't log into their own Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc.
accounts to show movies in the classroom. Netflix does have some
documentaries that they permit teachers to use in the classroom if thos
movies support curriculum - see https://help.netflix.com/en/node/57695, not
sure if the other streaming companies have something similar.
Generally the guideline for showing clips of work under the Fair Use
doctrine is that you can show up to 10% of the work - that is just a
guideline but you probably don't want to deviate too far from that.
