Subject: GeoWeek 2026: Partnership Materials Are Here!
Dear Geography Awareness Week Info Partner,
We welcome this opportunity to provide the public relations guide
<https://aagorg-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/lschamess_aag_org/ETbQGG7y1aBNqJcYQi_t-9gBVSnJClNXSQA0C0QRfbrpdg?e=HXF0Gx>
for
your use in promoting Geography Awareness Week, November 17-21. #GeoWeek.
This packet has statuses for all major social media, a link to graphics,
and a sample email for a listserve.
The theme of GeoWeek is Making Spaces for Possibility. Our hub of action is
www.aag.org/geoweek, with an embedded Storymap showing events all over the
world, resources for teachers, and more, including our Idea Kit
<https://aagorg-my.sharepoint.com/:f:/g/personal/lschamess_aag_org/EsSlkGhV1pdNjeyFccyG_zIBQBqTwZhbFM3TjgSKhdVM5w?e=xuRIhg>
with
a wide range of educational material.
These social media resources are intended both for the "get ready" phase of
GeoWeek, and can be adapted for the week itself in the third week of
November.
Thank you for being a promotional partner with AAG. We'd also like to thank
sponsors Esri and the National Council for Geographic Education. If you
have any questions at all, please email me at lschamess at aag.org, or my
colleague Emily Frisan at efrisan at aag.org
(P.S: If you would like to be removed from the GeoWeek partners list or
have a new contact person, let me know.)
(If you would like to participate in AAG's new sponsorship program for
GeoWeek, let me know and I can provide that information.)
Happy GeoPossibilities,
Lisa
