[MCOH-EH] Charging for MMR titers

CDC recommends not doing titers if they have proof of immunization (2 past the age of 12 months).
We request proof of vaccination for MMR; Varicella, Hepatitis B . If no proof of adequate vaccination we do titers.
At least in Massachusetts; anyone working in maternal child health must have proof of vaccination for MMR and varicella before working.
We do not charge employees for either titers nor vaccination.
Think of it this way; who stands to lose if your employee develops an infectious disease and transmit to your patients?????
Cost/benefit ratio worth it to any hospital system in my book.

We do not charge for doing the titers for our new hires or existing employees. Although, we have thought about when we do titers on a new employee and they only work less than one month should we seek reimbursement? I am not sure how that would be done but it is frustrating that after absorbing the cost they are gone and sometimes even requests their results to go with them which we freely give them. Does anyone else have this problem?

We are seeing an increase in the costs for performing MMR titers. If a new hire employee is unable to provide proof of vaccination for MMR, do you charge for performing titers? If the employee needs the vaccine, do you charge for it?
