[MCOH-EH] Question re: Process for flu vaccination for those with Egg Allergies

We do not provide the egg free. In fact, anyone who has had a reaction in the past, we will not administer a flu shot. We keep a list and inform them that they need to get it from their primary MD.

Only with a note from their Primary stating they did OK with the flu shot will we give again.

It’s all about safety. We explain that their Primary knows their complete medical history better than we do and it’s not worth the risk.

Most people are OK with this.

Thank you,

Subject: [MCOH-EH] Question re: Process for flu vaccination for those with Egg Allergies

I am curious whether your employee health / occ med departments routinely provide egg free options during flu shot season to Ee's. If not, what is your process: Refer to Primary MD, or Allergist?? Our organization plan is to get the shot or mask the entire flu season.
