Federal rules change January 2018 and all tests will be 10-panel (instead of 5).

Jordana:

We do an in-house 10-panel for prehires. We reflex out to MedTox currently for confirmation and all employees get the same urine drug of abuse (UDOA) panel. They also list ALL meds from the past 30 days OTC and scripts included.

Greetings:

We are a medical center/hospital with over 4500 employees. We presently do pre-employment drug screening for all employees with a Rapid 5 Panel Urine Drug Test that is then sent out if anything comes back positive. We are wondering what other organizations use for pre-employment urine drug testing? Specifically does anyone use 10 panel screens, healthcare worker specific screens, and do you do different screens for healthcare employees (nursing, providers) versus other types of employees (ie housekeeping, nutrition services, etc.).

Any input would be appreciated.

Ten panel as well because the "opiate" test in the five panel covers only the natural opiates (heroin, morphine and codeine) so you miss the semisynthetic opioids which are commonly abused
