Dear MCOH List-serv Members:
Several weeks ago the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) released its much awaited Consensus Study on Taking Action Against Clinician Burnout (https://nam.edu/systems-approaches-to-improve-patient-care-by-supporting-clinician-well-being/<https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fnam.edu%2Fsystems-approaches-to-improve-patient-care-by-supporting-clinician-well-being%2F&data=02%7C01%7CRobert.K.McLellan%40dartmouth.edu%7C07f1a9ce843d4a0e0c6908d7a379ff39%7C995b093648d640e5a31ebf689ec9446f%7C0%7C0%7C637157616683463657&sdata=kojZriZZIT1V4cMS0KtkSvFvzwlqlVstVMeE46BFFNI%3D&reserved=0>). ACOEM helped sponsor this Study. The President of NAM, Dr. Dzau, has called this the most important publication and initiative of NAM since To Err is Human and Crossing the Quality Chasm. This is a critical time in our history when our expertise in occupational health is needed and should be contributed.
As clinicians participating in medical center occupational health, your input is urgently needed. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey about the areas of influence of NAM’s Action Collaborative by January 29: https://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/5407541/NAM-Clinician-Well-Being-System-Thought-Idea-Leadership<https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.surveygizmo.com%2Fs3%2F5407541%2FNAM-Clinician-Well-Being-System-Thought-Idea-Leadership&data=02%7C01%7CRobert.K.McLellan%40dartmouth.edu%7C07f1a9ce843d4a0e0c6908d7a379ff39%7C995b093648d640e5a31ebf689ec9446f%7C0%7C0%7C637157616683473646&sdata=HHQRAgmQcH8FxvYCvhTKPuX5OEPSxilHk8f5mks5DFg%3D&reserved=0>. Responses will help identify how you can contribute to this critical initiative. Thank you.
