We are doing the same as Tara "15 minute waiting period, and have had a 30 minute waiting period for staff with a history of reaction so they can be monitored more closely."

We follow the 15 minute waiting period. It is an on your honor system though. The employees keep their own time and leave when 15 minutes is up.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [MCOH-EH] Survey: COVID Vaccine administration/15 minute observation period
Warning: [This message came from outside of Spartanburg Regional Network]
Cross posting in OEM list and MCOH:
Colleagues:
I've heard from our operations people that our immunization administration through-put has been throttled by the 15 minute observation time.
Specifically, the rate limiting step is clearing space for those who are being observed post-administration for that 15 minute period.
Please respond to the following, and I will report back aggregate results:
1. We follow the 15 minute wait time for all who are vaccinated
2. We stratify need to be observed by risk of having a reaction, or someone with underlying medical conditions that might result in a more serious acute reaction
3. We have eliminated the waiting period.
4. Other solutions or comments:
Thanks for taking the time.
