We allow for medical accommodations only for MMR and Varicella. For COVID, Flu and Tdap we allow for religious and medical accommodations.

Precautions for Tdap- the employee must wear a mask when caring for a child aged 1 or younger. (When flu policy for COVID is not in effect). Also employee is advised to contact OMS if they are exposed to pertussis or have cold-like symptoms.

Flu and COVID - employees with accommodation must mask at all times while at work (change it if it becomes wet or otherwise dirty) and not remove the mask unless they are eating and/or drinking. They should be at least 6 feet from others while eating.

MMR - avoid caring for patients with whatever disease the employee is not immune to and if they are exposed notify OMS immediately to discuss post exposure treatment options where indicated and furlough.

Varicella- do not care of patients with Varicella or shingles and if exposed to either, notify OMS immediately to discuss post exposure treatment options where indicated and furlough.

Please respond to the questions below regarding vaccine exemptions in healthcare systems

  1. Do you allow exemptions to all vaccines (including MMR and Varicella if not immune?)
  2. If you allow exemptions, do you have specific extra PPE precautions?
  3. If yes what are the extra precautions?

Thank you so much for any information - we are seeing an alarming increase in vaccine exemption requests
