[MCOH-EH] Medical Students Covid Vaccine Medical Exemption

We require vaccines, and our thoughts re that if they are students they should have the vaccines for their schools. If they are travelers they should have their required vaccines. We used to have a lot of issues with our agency and travelers lowering our reportable Influenza Vaccine rates for our facility as a whole, but then Covid kind of ruined that for everyone. At least in the past, we allowed for exemptions for the actual staff employed or volunteering here, but not for the travelers and students, and I Hope that continues to be the same.

Subject: [MCOH-EH] Medical Students Covid Vaccine Medical Exemption

Good afternoon
Historically Brown University has been responsible for reviewing and determining any medical exemptions for covid vaccination for their med students.
We have shared with them our process and guidelines through employee health at Lifespan.
There are a number of systems that they rotate through in Rhode Island.
We do not assess any student exemptions from any educational institution.

How do others handle students that have an exemption that might rotate through their system?
What do you do if their standard of exemption is significantly different from yours?

As always
Thank you
Charlie
