[MCOH-EH] [EXTERNAL] Health system safety measures

We are part of a multi facility system (7 hospitals) and our UPPER-level administrators reports do share this data in their quarterly meetings. Is it useful? In my opinion, not particularly, but this is information that impacts our EMOD and thereby our premiums since our Workers Compensation self-funded. Each facility has a Safety or Environment of Care meeting and at those meetings we report differently. The Safety Report below is an example. We include the 48-hour reporting to support our goal of initiating WC claims with 48 hours.
We do also have a Workplace Violence Taskforce that focuses on Patient Violence, and they meet quarterly. They have created care packages for staff who have experienced adverse events in the workplace.

I also know that our Quality department looks at injuries differently on a quarterly basis. An example of that view is shared below the Safety Report.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Our safety team is working on measures that they can report on regularly and have suggested this as one of them: OSHA recordables/10,000 hours worked. Our employee health leadership team has been asked to comment on the value of this metric and whether others in healthcare are using something similar when looking at safety.

Are other medical centers using this or a similar metric to look at their employee safety? Appreciate any input others can share!
