[MCOH-EH] Internal EAP teams?

Craig - When I was a corporate medical director for some 30 years; for the
first 20 years we had internal in house EAP. It reported to me and was one
excellent MFCC who was based in an office inside our on site clinic. One
person for about 5000 employees although he would meet with people in
person or by phone and if he could help in 1-3 visits he would and if
higher level psychologist or psychiatrist or more visits were needed he
could get people right in to prevetted providers. EAP had a budget for the
above. It worked great. When we moved in 1999-2000 to Optum there were
issues I’d hear about by employees and dependents who had to repeat their
issues multiple times to different people, and then were not be able to get
appointments with psychologists and psychiatrists EAP had referred them to
in a timely manner. At UCLA there is an  on site counseling center for
employees and for physicians a separate preset panel of psychologists and
psychiatrists who are available to see the physicians quickly and at a care
level the UCLA physicians expect as opposed to via the benefit plan or the
counseling center on site. These options also got excellent reviews. Happy
